Since 1981, Aide et Action has been ensuring access to quality education for the most vulnerable and marginalized populations, so that all can control their own development and contribute to a more peaceful and sustainable world.

In 2020, 258 million children remain deprived of education. In West Africa, 9 out of 10 schools do not have electricity. A school without electricity means:

  • shortened lessons
  • degraded teaching and learning conditions
  • teachers with limited teaching resources

These consequences do not encourage parents to send their children to school.

Since 2017, Aide et Action has launched the ALFA project "A Light for Africa" which aims to electrify primary schools in 6 countries. Electrifying a school means installing a solar kit composed of solar panels, lamps, wiring, a power socket, a computer with educational software, a fan, portable solar-powered lamps and costs CHF 7500.

By running for Aide et Action - or by supporting our runners - you contribute to improve the learning conditions and reinforce the schooling of the students. 7'500 CHF is the amount needed to electrify a school and make the right to education a reality for hundreds of children.
